EYH-2000

STUDENTS ...

Participate in two hands-on, interactive workshops led by women whose careers involve math, science or technology.

Attend a technology workshop led by the staff of the Integrated Teaching & Learning Laboratory.

Each small group of students will be guided to their workshops by a university student who will stay with the group throughout the day and answer questions about college.

A box lunch will be served between the first and second sessions of the day, and each student will receive an EYH T-shirt at registration.

ADULTS ...

Attend three workshops on topics ranging from understanding adolescent girls to planning for college.

All adult sessions will be held in the Engineering Center, adjacent to the ITLL.

A box lunch will be served.

Fathers are welcome and encouraged to attend!

GENERAL INFORMATION

EYH has an exciting location at the Integrated Teaching & Learning Laboratory at UCB’s Engineering Center. This state-of-art facility features scientific exhibits, computer labs and classrooms with technological learning aids.

Student participants must be currently enrolled in the sixth, seventh or eighth grade.

Students will be assigned to small groups and the groups will be chaperoned by university guides throughout the day.

Large groups (more than 8 students) must register by March 1, and individuals must register by March 9.

Registration is limited, so register early!

Some student scholarships are available.

Students will be assigned to two workshops. We will place students in one workshop related to their stated career interests.

Registration begins at 10 a.m., North entrance of the Integrated Teaching & Learning Laboratory (ITLL), on the University of Colorado campus at the Engineering Center, Regent Dr. and Colorado Ave., Boulder. Programs begin at 10:30 a.m.

The conference will end at 2:15 p.m. Students and adults should agree on a place to meet at the end of the conference; we suggest the north terrace of the ITLL.

Photographers may be taking pictures for publicity purposes.

CAREERS REPRESENTED AT THIS YEAR’S CONFERENCE WILL INCLUDE:

ANTHROPOLOGY ... ASTROPHYSICS ... ENGINEERING ... GEOLOGY ... METEOROLOGY ... PHARMACY ... PHYSICS ... OPTOMETRY ... VETERINARY MEDICINE ... WEB PAGE DESIGN ... AND MANY MORE!
