Scholarship Application 2009

Dear Applicant:

Thank you for your interest in the scholarship being offered by the Longmont Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW).

The American Association of University Women is a national organization that promotes education and equity for all women and girls.

To be eligible to receive our local scholarship:

  • You or your immediate family must be a resident of the St. Vrain Valley School District.
  • You must be a woman who is currently working towards an undergraduate college degree and has completed at least 30 college credit hours at an accredited college or university at the time of the application.
  • You must have a grade point average of at least a 3.0.

College graduates who are returning to college to upgrade their education and have a letter of enrollment or acceptance are also encouraged to apply.

There will be a minimum of one scholarship awarded in the amount of $1,000.  Submitted applications will be judged on the qualifications of the student, as well as the financial need.  Scholarship recipients will be notified by May 1, 2009.  The decision of the Scholarship Committee will be final.

Scholarship recipients will be invited to attend our annual May Spring Fling Brunch on May 9, 2009 to be introduced to the members.  Scholarships will be sent to the recipient’s school in September 2009.

Complete and submit your application to me postmarked no later than April 15, 2009.  Include your completed application and one official transcript showing at least 30 hours of completed course work, as well as four copies of the application and transcript.
