AAUW Colorado Stances on Selected State Bills & Ballot Initiatives*

*Please note that it is early in the state legislative session and ballot qualification process. Other bills and ballot issues may arise for AAUW Colorado public policy committee consideration, and amendments to supported bills might change the intent or impact of a bill enough for the AAUW Colorado public policy committee to reconsider its stance. Likewise, supported bills might be reassigned to active support status when lobbying efforts are deemed necessary.

The following information is current as of February 6, 2010. Stances are based on positions articulated in the AAUW 2009-2011 and AAUW Colorado 2008-2010 public policy platforms.  Individuals can follow bills at http://www.leg.state.co.us.

About Stating Official Positions of AAUW...

Unless AAUW's support or opposition is explicitly noted in the writeup of a bill, AAUW does not have a position either for or against it at the time of the writeup.  BECAUSE OF AMENDMENTS, AAUW'S POSITIONS MAY CHANGE.  IT IS IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO KEEP UP TO DATE. CONTACT US. The status of bills changes daily.

AAUW members are urged to support local, state and national measures that implement AAUW priorities. Members may choose not to support such measures, but they may not use the name of AAUW in public opposition to those measures. As individuals, AAUW members are encouraged to be active in the political and legislative process. Each branch president has a copy of USE OF NAME for members to review.
